Individual Psychotherapy

My approach to therapy is insight-oriented as well as practical. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them develop an understanding of themselves and their relationships, which I believe helps to foster long-term change and wellness. I also believe that it is important to help my clients to develop coping skills to reduce unwanted symptoms and enhance self-care. I integrate multiple treatment modalities to address each client’s particular concerns. I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is an important part of our work that allows for healing and personal growth.

Parenting Coaching

This is an opportunity for consultation to address specific challenges you may be having with your child and to improve general parenting skills. This service may be focused on issues such as managing a child's challenging behaviors, sleep problems, navigating different developmental stages, and enhancing communication and connection with one's child. The goal is to help the client to develop new parenting skills, such as developing new tools and strategies for managing emotions, resolving conflict, enhancing parent self-care/well-being (because a healthy and confident parent is better equipped to support their children), and fostering positive communication within the family. I offer personalized support that is confidential and non-judgmental and is tailored to the specific challenges presented by each client.

These consultations differ from psychotherapy in terms of my approach and focus. While traditional psychotherapy addresses the mental health concerns of the client and often their past experiences, parent coaching focuses on the client's present parenting challenges and involves setting parenting goals. These parent coaching sessions may take one session or multiple sessions depending on the particular needs and goals of the client, while psychotherapy tends to be ongoing. In addition, clients seeking parent coaching will not be able to use their insurance for the sessions, as the sessions are considered consultations and not psychotherapy sessions covered by one's health insurance. Please reach out to me to discuss my fee for this service.

Support/Parenting Groups for Moms

I am excited to be starting two support/parenting groups for moms. The first group is for moms of infants/babies from birth to age 2. This group will be a warm, non-judgmental space for moms of babies to find support from each other and from me. The topics we will discuss include self-care, balancing work and family, marriage/partnerships, child development, emotional experiences, body image, and much more.

The second group is for moms of young children (from age 2 through tween/pre-teen years). In this group, we will discuss challenging parenting issues, process aspects of the group members’ experiences of having been parented as children that impact their own parenting, and learn concrete, practical strategies for more effective parenting. Each week we will focus on a different theme related to parenting. This will be an environment for moms to offer each other support, share common experiences, learn from each other and from me, increase insight/self-awareness around their emotional experience of parenting, and develop new parenting strategies.

Clinical Supervision

I have had the privilege of supervising interns, trainees, and therapists in different settings over the course of my career thus far. I offer my supervisees the same non-judgmental, supportive environment that I offer my psychotherapy clients. I welcome the opportunity to provide supervision to therapists who are looking for support and guidance. Please be in touch if you would like to discuss working together in supervision.
